93 pt. Pomerol for $24.99. Yes, Really…

I’m sure I am far from alone in a love for Pomerol that almost borders on an obsession. 800 hectares of unquestionably the world’s finest Merlot terroir, and a definite contender for the greatest wine ‘village’ in the entire world.
The only problem with Pomerol of course, is that it doesn’t come cheap, certainly not the good stuff. Unless of course that is, you get very very lucky indeed. Honestly, this is so ridiculous that I think a lot of you are going to think we’ve made a mistake on the pricing here.
$24.99 for a 93 pointer from one of the most celebrated vintages in years, not just from Pomerol, but from three hectares of vines on its hallowed ‘plateau’- a patch of clay home to the most celebrated wines of all. Petrus, Lafleur, Vieux Château Certan, Clinet, they’re all here. A literal stone’s throw across the road from the latter of these, you’ll find Château La Fleur des Rouzes- small enough to be exclusively distributed by one specific Bordeaux broker, quite unbelievably well priced, and downright delicious.
Given the tiny size of the vineyard it goes without saying that there’s not a limitless supply of this, as not much of it exists. Buy this now, and buy it in volume. However much you take, there is no way that in a year’s time you will kick yourself for not buying more.
2015 Château La Fleur Des Rouzes Pomerol
Attractive aromas of mixed summer berries and violets, as well as fresh earthy nuances. The palate has a smooth, cool-fruited core of plum and dark-berry flavor. Smooth layered and long tannins. Best from 2020. 93 pts., James Suckling
