Burgundy In A Bikini! The Stunning Fess Parker Pommard Clone Pinot Noir

This is just pure fun. We’ve partnered up with our good friends over at Fess Parker and have an exclusive you can’t find anywhere else in Massachusetts. Load up on one of our favorite domestic Pinot’s EVER!
We’ve been offering the Santa Barbara based estate’s introductory Pinot and Chardonnay for years as they’ve always offered fabulous quality for the money. In recent years the winery has sharpened its focus toward production of small lot, vineyard designated and clonal selection Rhône and Burgundian varietals. They are sensational and our favorite is the 2016 “Pommard Clone” Pinot Noir. Wild strawberries, milk chocolate, forest floor, it’s juicy, it’s sexy and it’s really, really fun. It’s Burgundy wearing a bikini and it’s impossible not to like. Perfect for the summer and for entertaining a wide array of dinner guests, this is, without a doubt, your next sensational Pinot!
“These are some of the finest wines and wine values emerging from the Santa Barbara region.” Wine Advocate
2016 Fess Parker “Pommard Clone” Pinot Noir
“The 2016 Pinot Noir Pommard Clone reveals an attractive bouquet of smoky raspberries, blood orange, spice, undergrowth and plum preserve, followed by a medium to full-bodied palate that’s quite supple and expansive, balanced by juicy acids and concluding with a sappy, delicately tannic finish.” 92 Points, Wine Advocate
I have to tell you the truth. I have an official challenge from our resident Burgundy buyer and Wine Director, Ian Halbert. Ian, a Burgundy snob, sells all of the Pinot at the shop, has challenged me to sell 25 cases of this wine. If I do, then he’s cooking cheeseburgers for the entire wine shop staff. I took up the challenge because this wine, while an underdog against the higher priests of Burgundy, is still very clearly a winner. Why? It’s impossible not to love.
I would be of disservice to market this wine as a “Burgundy for beginners” because it is much more than that. This is serious Pinot, sensitively made, from a single block of a terrific terroir (Ashely’s vineyard) in the Santa Rita Hills. It is one of the rare wines which gets under your skin and insists you return to it time and again, always providing a new surprise or delight! DO NOT MISS THIS.
