Glenglassaugh Seminar with Stewart Buchanan

Join the internationally renowned, Stewart Buchanan, Brown Forman’s Global Scotch Advocate as he introduces the new to the market Glenglassaugh line and discusses the B-F portfolio of scotches that include special expressions from Benriach and Glendronach.
In 2016, Glenglassaugh was purchased by Brown-Forman – along with Benriach and Glendronach – and celebrated master blender Rachel Barrie set about shoring up stocks for a new series of official bottlings. After some years of development, 2023 brought three new Glenglassaugh single malts offering new expressions of a distillery defined by the elements of land and sea.

About Stewart Buchanan:
Stewart was born in Dumbarton near Glasgow and moved to the Isle of Mull when he was eight years old. He began working in the whisky industry in 1993 at Tobermory distillery on Mull. He worked in production as a ‘Stillman’, where he maintained the distillery and learned about production.
In 2004, Stewart was asked to bring Benriach distillery back into production after it had been mothballed for two years. He painted nearly every wall, stripped down nearly every piece of equipment, fixed the boiler, and tightened nuts, bolts and screws. He learned all aspects of the industry, from warehousing to hosting tastings, eventually becoming Production Manager in 2006.
Stewart became Global Brand Ambassador in 2012. This involves travelling all over the world hosting tastings, attending whisky events and working with the media, letting as many people as possible experience all expressions over the three distilleries.
In March 2018, Stewart was one of a small number of people to be named a ‘Keeper of the Quaich’. This honour is given to individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to Scotch. In his free time, Stewart enjoys motorcycling, snowboarding and going to see live bands.
