Portuguese Terroir MasterClass
June 8 @ 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

Join Rui Abecassis, one of the principals of Spanish & Portuguese importer, Olé e Obrigado as he takes us on a journey to four artisanal wineries throughout Portugal.
First up, three projects by the Maçanita family.
António Maçanita, one of Portugal’s youngest and most prolific talents, whose work spans the country’s most fascinating regions created Azores Wine Company which includes wines from the far-flung Azores archipelago. The philosophy of the Azores Wine Company is to focus on the recovery of endangered grape varieties, and the promotion of wines, gastronomy and tourism in the Azores.
Antonio’s sister Joanna Maçanita is at the helm of Maçanita Vinhos, the family’s new project in the famed Douro Valley. Maçanita Vinhos focuses on traditional red and white Douro field blends and progressive monovarietal studies of native local grapes.
Lastly, experience the wines of Fitapreta, another exciting project by Antonio Maçanita which aims to rediscover the Alentejo of old. The wines produced at Fitapreta reflect the character of the Alentejo region, with the intention of preserving its culture and local grape varieties including Tinta Carvalha, Alicante Branco, Moreto, Trincadeira das Pratas, among others.
Last stop, are the intriguing wines of Luis Seabra Vinhos, a small yet ambitious operation in the Douro, Dão & Vinho Verde. Seabra started out with the “Cru” series; which sources wines from singular terroirs. He also produces the “Ilimitado” red and white; fashioned after the Burgundian villages system.
We hope you can join us for this fantastic opportunity to taste these unique and deeply captivating wines and learn about Portuguese terroir from Rui!
$50.00 tickets include wine tasting and cheese & charcuterie boxes.
