Wines of SouthWest France

November 12, 2021 @ 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

This tasting features five wines from the Southwest of France. Hosted by Peter Dorfman, this lineup has something for every taste–bubbly, light white and reds, to fully rich “black wine.”

All tasted wines are discounted.

**Ch. Rives-Blanques, Blanquette de Limoux–One of the oldest, if not the oldest, of French sparkling wines. We invite you enjoy this less expensive alternative to Champagne.

**Saint Peyre, Picpoul de Pinet–Grown along the Mediterranean near France’s most productive oyster beds, it is no surprise that these wines were developed to be matched with seafood.

**Sentinelle de Massiac, Minervois–Made from a blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mouvedre, Minervois are bright reds wines that offer juicy enjoyment at an attractive price.

**Cosse et Maisonneuve, “Solis” Malbec, Cahors–The “Black Wines of Cahors” have a history stretching back to Roman times, and their Malbec grape has made a modern home in Argentina. It’s fun to compare the Malbec wines of Cahors with the Argentine wines with which you may be more familiar.

**La Farge, “Narassa,” Cotes Catalanes–Rich red wine, organically grown from 60+-year vines, it is a blend of Grenache and Syrah made to go with flavorful meats or grilled foods.
