Nuits St. Georges is the southernmost appellation of the Côte de Nuits and is known for juicy, dense red wines with dark berries and sloes and a distinctive structure. Located at the mouth of the Combe des Vallerots side valley, Les St. Georges is undisputedly the best location in Nuits, which could well be worthy of a Grand Cru. The deep, clayey loam interspersed with alluvial gravel produces the densest and richest wine of the appellation.
