Description
Meursault is one of the four most famous villages producing white wine in Côte de Beaune (Meursault, Blagny, Chassagne, and Puligny). These villages are known as the «Côte des Blancs», named for the quality and predominance of their white wines. The vineyards are spread over gentle slopes, between 230 and 360 meters above the sea level. The eastern orientation is ideal, allowing maximum sunlight. Chalky soils with white marl are best suited to the Chardonnay grape. The Premier Cru Meursault “Genevrières” is located between the other Premiers Crus “Porusot” and “Charmes”. Maison Louis Jadot produces a rich full-bodied wine but not too fat. It is very aromatic when young and keeps its strength all through its life.
