Description

The 2018 Sauvignon Blanc offering up ripe nectarine and cut-grass notes on the nose. Medium to full-bodied, it’s plump and silky on the palate, showcasing round fig and melon notes on the finish. Fifteen percent of the blend went into puncheons and 5% is SÃ©millon.

This Sauvignon Blanc displays aromas of grapefruit and lime underpinned by a chalky mineral complexity. The palate is finely textured with gooseberry, zesty citrus and mineral flavours combined with a slight creaminess. A firm acidity helps to draw out the finish. This wine is drinking well now but will develop well over the next five years showing great concentration with evolving truffle and caramel characters.

80% of the 2009 Sauvignon Blanc was fermented with wild yeast and it contains 5% barrel fermented Semillon, though no new oak. It has pronounced aromas of grapefruit and gooseberry with green mango and some crushed stones. Medium-full bodied, it has great concentration with crisp acid and just a suggestion of greenness in the long finish. Drink it now to 2012. ”
