SAN FELICE CAMPOGIOVANNI BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2006 3 LTR

Description

In 1984, under the supervision of the late managing director, Enzo Morganti, San Felice purchased Campogiovanni in Montalcino. The estate’s 49 acres of vineyards are planted entirely to Sangiovese – 35 acres, the oldest of them planted in the mid-1960s, are dedicated to Brunello and 14 to Rosso. Winemaker Leonardo Bellaccini replanted other parcels in 1982, 1988 and 1997. The vineyards are located at an elevation of 820-984 feet with a south-southwest aspect. This position allows the vines to benefit from the positive effects of mild breezes off the Mediterranean. The terroir of Campogiovanni, including its sandy, mineral-rich clay soil, allows Sangiovese to grow slowly and steadily, producing unusually complete, balanced grapes and wines which express all their potential.
