“A lovely wine, sleek yet complex with expressive rose petal and lavender aromas, opening to a refined raspberry, stony mineral and spice flavors that sail toward polished tannins. 94 Points, Wine Spectator
More About the Wine
We’ve been trumpeting the success of Evening Land since the very beginning. This isn’t just another bottle of domestic Pinot. This is a labor of love from two of the most talked about producers in wine right now, Raj Parr and Sashi Moorman, working to truthfully express arguably Oregon’s most famous and important vineyard.
The 2016 Seven Springs Pinot Noir comes from the estate’s oldest own-rooted Pinot Noir vines. These 31-year-old vines are harvested by hand, hand-sorted, and roughly 65% of the fruit was destemmed. They use gentle punch-downs throughout the naturally occurring fermentation, encouraging a soft extraction of tannins. The wine is then aged in approximately 20% new French oak for 12 months.
The result is a wine that is serious without sacrificing the delicious. Highly recommended.
