There is an increasingly easy case to be made that Raul Perez has assumed the mantle of being the most exciting and talked about winemaker – not in Spain – but on Earth. His cult following has gone global. With all this hoopla and mounting praise, I don’t blame you for expecting the man to headline the halftime show at a future Super Bowl (he’ll come dressed in old vine Mencía).
On September 26th we were treated in tasting Mr. Perez’s line of work for the 2015-2016 vintage. It was a special night and one that cemented for many just how special and lucky we are to witness Mr. Perez’s spectacular ascension. If you weren’t lucky enough to be there, please do yourself some good and buy these bottles. You won’t regret it.
