Tradition and Elegance from the Heart of Veneto
Ca’ La Bionda is a family-owned estate founded in 1902, located in the heart of the Valpolicella Classico zone, just north of Verona. Today, the fourth generation of the Castellani family continues the work of crafting wines that balance authenticity with finesse, farming organically and working with native grape varieties.
The 2023 Valpolicella Classico is a textbook example of the style—Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella grown on hillside vineyards at 150–300 meters, with limestone and clay soils that lend lift and elegance. Fermented with native yeasts and aged in large oak casks, it is made to highlight purity and freshness rather than weight or oak influence.
In the glass, the wine shows bright red cherry, raspberry, and wild herbs, with a touch of spice and a gentle floral note. On the palate, it is lively, medium-bodied, and wonderfully drinkable, with fine tannins and refreshing acidity that make it a versatile companion at the table.
For many, Valpolicella is synonymous with Ripasso and Amarone, but this Classico bottling demonstrates the beauty of the appellation in its purest form—vivid, aromatic, and full of charm. It’s a wine that feels both everyday and special, equally at home with pizza or pasta,.
With Ca’ La Bionda’s long history, organic farming, and dedication to traditional winemaking, the 2023 Valpolicella Classico is a bottle that truly overdelivers.
