Vintage 59' Grower Champagne MasterClass
Join us for an in-depth exploration of the world of Grower Champagne with Michael Daniels, partner of Vintage ’59 Imports, one of the country's most respected importers of artisanal, grower-focused French wines. Vintage ’59 has built its reputation on long-standing relationships with independent farming families whose wines express place, tradition, and craftsmanship rather than large-scale production.
In this masterclass, Michael will guide guests through the philosophy of Grower Champagne—wines produced by the same families who farm the vineyards—highlighting the diversity of terroir, grape varieties, village identities, and winemaking approaches that make this category one of the most exciting in the world of sparkling wine today.
Mike Daniels' passion for France and wine began during his studies of the French language and culture, eventually leading him to spend extensive time in France and develop close relationships with many of the growers represented by Vintage ’59. Since joining the company in its early years and becoming a partner in 2008, he has worked closely with family-owned domaines throughout France, learning firsthand from the growers themselves. His engaging storytelling, deep producer relationships, and extensive knowledge make him one of the industry's most compelling educators on artisanal French wine.
Whether you're a seasoned Champagne enthusiast or just beginning your journey into the region, this seminar offers a rare opportunity to taste exceptional grower-produced wines while learning directly from one of the foremost advocates for artisanal French producers in the United States.
