2025 Laetitia Ducroux Sancerre — A New Name Worth Knowing
Sancerre is one of those names that can make a bottle more expensive before you even open it. The region has become so popular that finding genuinely exciting Sancerre at a reasonable price can feel like looking for a needle in a haystack. So when a young, seriously talented producer comes along with a wine this good, it gets my attention.
2025 Laetitia Ducroux Sancerre is exactly the kind of Sancerre we want to be drinking: bright, mineral, energetic, and completely refreshing, without sacrificing texture or substance. It is Sauvignon Blanc, but this is not simply about Sauvignon Blanc’s familiar citrus and grapefruit character. The wine has that distinctly Sancerre combination of cool fruit, stony minerality, acidity, and a dry, almost saline finish that makes you immediately want another sip.
And 2025 gives the wine plenty of appeal. There is freshness, but also enough ripeness and concentration to keep the wine from feeling thin or merely “crisp.” It has the balance that makes Loire Sauvignon so compelling in the first place.
What we particularly like about Ducroux is that this feels like Sancerre for people who actually love Sancerre, rather than Sancerre made simply to fit a familiar commercial profile. There is tension, minerality, and a sense of place here. It is the sort of bottle that reminds you why this little corner of the Loire became famous in the first place.
And perhaps most importantly, this is a bottle to buy by the case. At a time when the most recognizable Sancerre names can command increasingly silly prices, finding a serious bottle from an emerging producer is a genuine opportunity.
The 2025 Laetitia Ducroux Sancerre is delicious, refreshing, mineral-driven, and extremely easy to drink. Put a few bottles in the fridge now. We know that it feels like fall is coming, but it’s still summer for nearly a month.
Classic Loire Sauvignon Blanc. Serious minerality. Great vintage. Excellent value. Drink one tonight and buy enough to have around throughout September.
