A New Chapter in Cool-Climate Winemaking
Great wine stories often begin in Burgundy, and this one is no exception, even though it ends nearly 12,000 kilometers away, in one of the most remote, unspoiled wine regions on Earth: Chile’s Malleco Valley. The connection is in the name. Little Quino is the project of CasaFevre—a name inspired by none other than William Fèvre, the legendary Chablis producer. The Fèvre family’s deep-rooted expertise in cool-climate viticulture found a thrilling new chapter in Chile, where volcanic soils and a long growing season create wines with striking precision and minerality. Think of Little Quino as a Burgundian mindset transported to the southernmost tip of South America.
Malleco is not where Chilean wine usually begins. It’s where it’s reinvented.
The vineyards of Quino are tucked between ancient volcanoes—Tolhuaca, Lonquimay, Llaima, Sollipulli, and Villarica—on land long owned by the Pino family but only planted with vines in the last decade. Here, amidst little annual rainfall and harsh frosts, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc flourish on dry, volcanic soils. It’s a world away from the sunny, fertile expanses of Chile’s Central Valley—and the wines reflect that difference in every drop.
These are not fruit bombs. If you’re looking for tropical punch, you’ll need to look elsewhere. These wines are clean, lean, mineral, and vibrant—built around freshness, tension, and a deep sense of place.
The 2021 Little Quino Pinot Noir is a revelation: more earth and energy than overt fruit, with Burgundian lift and elegance. It’s a wine that surprises people—it’s light in body, but not in character. You get red berries, sure, but also forest floor, spice, and a mineral edge that hints at its volcanic roots.
The 2023 Little Quino Sauvignon Blanc is equally distinctive. Forget gooseberries and tropical fruit. This is citrus-laced, saline, and stony, with a sharp focus that could fool a Sancerre lover. It’s the kind of Sauvignon Blanc that makes you sit up straight—not just refreshing, but thought-provoking.
At Gordon’s, we’re always on the hunt for wines that offer something different. Little Quino is exactly that—wines with character, identity, and a true sense of place, made by people who care more about origin than trend. They’re wines that tell a story, not just of Chile, but of the land between two rivers, of ancient volcanoes, and of a new frontier for cool-climate viticulture.
We’re thrilled to have these wines on our shelves and can’t wait for you to taste the frontier for yourself. Come discover what happens when one of Burgundy’s finest minds meets one of the world’s most extreme terroirs.
92 Points, Patricio Tapia - Descorchados
From vines planted 15 years ago in the Quino zone of the Malleco Valley, some 650 kilometers south of Santiago, this is a radiant, juicy, light-bodied sauvignon with intense acidity, surrounded by citrus and herbal flavors. A perfect white for oysters—it has body enough.
