Etna Winemaker MasterClass with Antonio Benanti
Join Antonio Benanti for an immersive exploration of the wines of Benanti, one of Etna’s most respected and pioneering estates. With winemaking roots dating back to the late 19th century, the Benanti family’s deep connection to Mount Etna has shaped a singular approach to expressing the volcano’s diverse terroirs.
Founded by Giuseppe Benanti in 1988, the estate works exclusively with Sicily’s native grapes—Carricante, Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio—with vineyards spread across four distinct slopes of Etna: North, East, South-East and South-West. The combination of volcanic soils, elevation and varying climatic influences creates remarkably distinct wines, each capturing a true sense of place.
In 2012, after 25 years at the helm, Giuseppe passed the winery to his sons Antonio and Salvino, who continue to build on their father’s pioneering legacy while championing Etna’s unique identity on the world wine stage.
This special MasterClass offers a rare opportunity to taste across the Benanti portfolio with Antonio himself, exploring the native varieties and distinct microclimates and geological features that make Etna one of Italy’s most compelling wine regions.
