Produced from excellent quality Monastrell vines, grown in chalky clay soil at slightly over 2,000 feet of altitude in the Yecla D.O. (southeastern Spain), this is not your everyday Mourvedre. It is picked considerably earlier than the norm for this grape variety in Spain, resulting in wonderfully bright red fruit flavors, without sacrificing Mourvedre’s typically intense fruit and highly phenolic character.
