This is one of the four most-recent Grand Crus in the Ponsot line up. The fruit comes from 3 small parcels, though Laurent was not disposed to reveal their exact location. Perhaps reflecting Laurent’s aversion to most Corton Rouge, which he suggests, with a smile, lacks elegance and typically”…makes a good alternative to Châteauneuf-du-Pape…” this cuvée is quite unlike any Corton we have tried. It has an energy and purity that is a delight to drink. The name means ‘cuvée of the bumblebee.
